Announcing the International Council on English Braille Mid-term Executive Committee Meeting

We are delighted to announce the 2026 mid-term Executive Committee meeting of the International Council on English Braille (ICEB), which will take place from Monday 10th to Thursday 13th August. All meetings will be held at Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472

Perkins is 11.2 miles or approximately 30 minutes from Logan International Airport (BOS).

Schedule of discussion areas

The agenda for this four-day meeting is still at the planning stage, but will include:

  • Updates from various committees including Code Maintenance, Music Braille, Research, Braille Technology, Membership, Bylaws and finance.
  • ICEB member country reports.
  • There will also be a dedicated time to tour the Perkins factory and see how the trusted Perkins Brailler is made!

This event presents a wonderful opportunity for member countries to get together and discuss all aspects of the Unified English Braille (UEB) code, for which ICEB has responsibility.

Observers Welcome!

Interested observers, both individuals and organisational representatives, are welcome to attend the meeting. Observers may have the opportunities to speak if time permits, but do not have the right to vote.
